United Cottage Industries (UCI) was established in the post-independence era in 1948 by one visionary man — Mr. Chhaganlal Riya (Thacker). He started the business with modest beginnings with the manufacture and supply of travelling goods in Adbul Rehman Street. This mantle was taken forward by his son – Mr. Vijay Riya who further perceived the needs of industrial accessories in varied industries and upscale the product offerings under the banner of UC’I.
